Disaster Prevention and Preparedness
Disasters can strike any person, in any place, at any time. Your local Red Cross, county goverment as well as local law enforcement work continuously to mitigate and prepare for such events should they strike our communities.
In addition to this large-scale planning, it is important to take steps now to ensure you and your loved ones are ready when the time comes. The Red Cross has a wide variety of information on hand to help you. The Red Cross encourages you to Be Red Cross Ready by taking three actions to be prepared in emergencies:
1. Get a Kit - Have at least three days of supplies in an easy-to-carry evacuation kit, with additional supplies on hand.
2. Make a Plan - Planning ahead will help you have the best possible response to disaster
3. Be Informed - Know what may happen in the area where you live, work and play.
